Athletics
The purpose of our athletic department at CCA is to fulfill the ultimate mission; equipping students to be salt and light for God’s glory, by developing Christ-like character through the pursuit of excellence in competitive athletics.

Our goal is develop student athletes not only in their physical skills, but also their character and Biblical values. We seek to bring them to their full potential. Athletes will gain an understanding of responsibility - to each other, their coaches, their parents, and as spectators.
Our athletic philosophy is centered around Colossians 3:23:
“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.”
Through our programs students will learn how to work as a team to attain a goal, take adversity without complaining, to be gracious in defeat or humble in victory, and to treat others with respect and consideration.
Above all else, CCA’s athletic department seeks to glorify God in all we say and do.

Academics come first and eligibility will be enforced.
Attendance at practice is mandatory. Excused absences: absent from school, family emergency, medical appointments.
Uniforms and Equipment are school-owned and the responsibility of student-athletes.
Cell phones are not permitted at practices, during games or on bus rides.
A student-athlete should keep all social media posts (on all platforms) about yourself and the team in a positive light.
Our goal is to build a team of players that demonstrate Godly character, and demand more of themselves.
Players are to respect coaches, teammates, opponents, referees, fans, school officials, and those around you.
Complaining, excuses, and gossip will not be tolerated. School discipline issues that result in consequences may be subject to a loss in playing time.

Leave coaching to the coaches.
Be an example of good sportsmanship at games, keeping criticism of the officiating to a minimum and treat all fans with respect.
Be patient with the coaches who are not giving my athlete the playing time I feel they deserve.

We believe in resolution in alignment with Matthew 18. If a parent or an athlete has a concern, issue, or anything that needs to be addressed, they will follow the following 24-hour protocol:
1st: Contact the coach via email no sooner than 24 hours after an event to discuss the conflict.
2nd: If an additional mediation is required, a meeting will be scheduled with the coach, the parent/athlete and athletic director.
3rd: If further resolution is needed, a meeting will be scheduled with the coach, the parent/athlete, athletic director, and administration.
